How it started...

Sunset Point Winery opened on July 3, 2015. The winery is owned by Kelly and Don Guay. The name of the winery is a combination of two great locations! Kelly and Don were married in September of 2013 on Sunset Lake in Amherst. They both attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with Paper Sciences degrees. So the name Sunset Point Winery was born! The sun logo also has special meaning: the Guays are a blended family with five kids and because of this there are seven rays in the setting sun.​

Tours:

If you would like to know more about the history of Sunset Point Winery, the building, and winemaking, please join us for a tour! We hold public tours on Saturdays at 3:30 pm when staffing is available. Tours are $14 and include a souvenir glass and wine tasting flight. Tour size is limited for space; please call 715-544-1262 and make a reservation.

If you would like a private tour for your group of (minimum of 10 adults) please Email to make a request at least of 4 weeks prior to your desired date. Private tour day/time availability depends on existing scheduling and staffing ability. We do not book private tours on Saturdays. Groups over 20 people may be split into separate tours. Payment for private tours is due at the time of reservation and is non-refundable.

The Tasting Room
The tasting room is located on the second floor of the building right above our production area. We have elevator access. This room has a warm and cozy feel with hardwood floors and lofted ceiling with skylights. It is a great place to hang out with family or friends. We have six wonderful hammock swings where you can sit back and relax.

Walk Up Window
The Water Street Walk-up window is occasionally open for carry-out wine and wine slushies by the glass in the summer during major outdoor events in the downtown area. Use of this feature is dependent on weather and staffing.
