In early 2019, we released a special edition dessert wine called Grand Slam. (We no longer have this wine.) It was made with late-harvest Frontenac Blanc grapes grown at Rock Ridge Vineyard in Amherst, WI. Proceeds from the sale of this wine went to Never Forgotten Honor Flight, a group that offers local war veterans another chance to fly in an aircraft. The wine was named in honor of co-owner Don Guay's grandfather, Don Wertz, who served in World War II as a B-25 pilot. His aircraft during the war was titled “Grand Slam.” State Senator Patrick Testin and State Representative Katrina Shankland attended to show support.
